Roscrea Tidy Towns Committee are presently undertaking a major upgrade of Glebe Park in Roscrea to include a completely new children’s playground and outdoor exercise equipment to suit all ages from teenagers to the elderly.
Roscrea Tidy Towns are currently spearheading the redevelopment of glebe park in Roscrea. When completed the park will be fully refurbished with lots of new equipment that will be used to fully enhance the park and playground facilities. Tidy Towns were joined on Friday morning last by sponsors of the project including Frank C Murray & sons, Roscrea Credit Union, The Parish Council and Roscrea Lions Club.

Traditionally the Tidy Town’s Group main focus has been litter prevention and the beautification of Roscrea. For the past few years however the group has diversified into other areas including public awareness of waste management issues, tourism promotion, community participation and the provision of leisure facilities for all ages.
The work at Glebe Park is costing in excess of €70,000.00. The Tidy Towns Committee are therefore very grateful to the various organisations and individuals that have dug deep into their pockets to support this much needed infrastructure which will enhance the lives of townspeople and visitors alike.

The Roscrea Tidy Towns Committee made a generous contribution from their own funds for this project. The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely the following without whose support the project could not happen. Frank Murray Building Contractor, Roscrea Credit Union, Roscrea Lions Club, Roscrea Parish Council, North Tipperary County Council, and the numerous people that contribute to the Tidy Towns annual collection. This collection is extremely important and all support is much appreciated.
Finally the Tidy towns Committee would like to apologise to the gnarl public for the closure of the park at present. It is expected that the refurbished park will be open to the public once again by Easter.
