Radio DJ In Sponsored Weight Loss In Aid Of Special Olympics TipperaryBest wishes to local personality and Tipp FM DJ, Fran Curry, who will commence a sponsored eight week, weight loss, this Easter in aid of Special Olympics Tipperary.
Helping Fran shake off the pounds will be Liz William’s, proprietor of “Liz’s Fitness Centre”, Dublin Road Roscrea. Speaking to the local media this week, Liz said she was looking forward to helping Fran with his exercise regime over the next two months. Already Liz has helped hundreds of people loose weight and get fit while at the same time earning lots of money for charity. Since August last year, Liz has helped raise thousands of euros for local and national charities. Liz’s first campaign raised €4000.00 for the “Dean Maxwell Home”. €1000.00 was then raised for the Terry Fox Run, and €3200.00 was raised as part of Colm Brophy’s Dublin to Paris Bike ride in aid of St Luke’s Cancer Hospital. At the moment Liz has a number of local people involved in a sponsored weight loss campaign for North Tipperary Hospice (Roscrea Branch) and this group has raised €8000.00 with the amount still growing on a weekly basis.

Diarmuid Fitzgerald (Tipperary Hurler) Had The Honour Of Opening Liz's Fitness Centre On The Dublin Road, Roscrea.
In these challenging economic times with grant money in short supply it is now more important than ever that people do what they can to support wonderful initiatives such as “Special Olympics”. Liz is calling on all the businesses in Roscrea to pledge a donation towards the “Fran Curry” sponsored weight loss. As part of the campaign Liz will give a weekly update on Fran’s progress, live on Tipp Fm Radio. All businesses that support the fundraiser will be given numerous mentions on the radio throughout the two month weight loss campaign. It is not often an opportunity presents itself to receive such extensive advertising potential like this in return for a donation to such a worthwhile cause as “Special Olympics”. Liz is also calling on supporters of “Special Olympics” to drop into the “Fitness Centre” and pick up a sponsorship card that will allow friends, work colleagues etc to pledge a donation however big or small.
At the end of Fran’s Weight loss campaign, there will be a final weigh in at Hayes’s Hotel on Friday June 5th. A great night is planned with raffles, auctions, sponsored head shave’s, karaoke, music by “Stupid Cupid” all on offer. The whole event is free and all are welcome to come along.
Liz recently opened her new state of the art fitness centre on the Dublin Road , Roscrea. The centre is equipped with the best circuit training equipment on the market which is ideal for those wanting to loose weight or those wishing to increase their strength and fitness levels. Liz offers her clients lots of diet and fitness advice and brings fun back into fitness through her unique Karaoke Aerobic sessions and novelty events. Liz runs the “Fitness Centre” with her daughter Lea and together they bring a unique and enjoyable approach to getting fit, and losing weight.
