Last Saturday afternoon The Mill House in Roscrea came under siege with over 600 bikers from all corners of Ireland. The 26 strong members of local club Free Spirit MCC hosted their 16th Rally to the Irish Motorcycling fraternity. These motorcycle rallies are run all over the country most weekends all year round.

The grounds of the Mill House was transformed for the night by large marquees, light towers, catering vans, T shirt and motorcycle parts stalls and a sea of tents in the adjoining field. Trophies on the night are presented to motorcyclists for various types of motorcycle and to the club with the most number of members there which went to a local-ish club “An Ri Dubh” from Shannon-Bridge. Local charities were also on site collecting money in buckets, availing of the generous nature of the bikers.

The atmosphere on the night was relaxed with the club providing their own security throughout the night ensuring that all bikers and their pride & joy motorcycles were safe. Around the marquee, open fire and camp site the atmosphere was electric as bikers talked shop in all aspects of motorcycles and motorcycling.

Music was provided on the night by 2 bands and a DJ entertaining the crowd until the very early hours of the morning. On the Sunday morning, the bikers emerged from their tents, loaded their bikes again and headed home. Yet another successful rally from Free Spirit MCC.
