As the night moved on Brendan’s bar was packed to capacity for Tom Stapleton’s ’40 years of gigs & jigs’. Tom and his wife Lucy have promoted music through out the country working with notable acts such as Aslan, Sean Keane, Guy Clarke, The Waterboys and many more household names. Tom narrated through the night, recalling some great moments of musical history. The Beo committee then surprised Tom & Lucy presenting them with a beautiful trophy, a token of appreciation from the people of Roscrea. A great night of music and song ensued. Soon after Sean Keane took to the stage and gave an outstanding performance. The crowd were captivated and sang along as the night moved on. No doubt the highlight of the night was during the performance of ‘Isle of Hope, Isle of tears’ where the crowd was as loud as the pa system. For those that were there it was a night to remember.
