Sean Tracey Credit Sinn Féin Cumann held their annual Commemoration Sunday the 22nd of January at Roscrea Castle for four brave men Patrick McNamara, Frederick Bourke, Martin O Shea, and Patrick Russell who were brutally executed by the hands of the free state army on the morning of January 15th 1923.
Chief Orator was Carol Nolan TD, MC was Cllr David Doran , Role of Honour was conducted by Warren Dunne and Brian Kirwan, Wreaths were laid by Billy Armstrong and Maria Phelan.
Cllr Doran expressed his disappointment in not been able to enter the castle grounds to lay a wreath at the location where these brave men were executed.
Deputy Nolan also pointed out her similar disappointment about not been able to enter the location and proudly outlined that Sinn Féin the only all Ireland party will not stand for this nor stand for any form of corruption, we will fight for a 32 county state and for equality and fairness for all our citizens.
