Last Monday the 13th of June saw the first Ashbury Residents Association Neighbour of the Year/Variety Night at the GAA Pavilion.
The idea for the award came from the Chairperson of the association Mr Tommy Murphy and months of planning and rehearsals went into the evening with seventeen acts making the final line up. These acts ranged from poetry recitals to comedians, singers and one-act plays and also a special visit from the Spice Girls.

All proceeds from the evening went towards the Ashbury Youth Development Fund. The Residents Association would like to thank everyone who attended on the night, and all the sponsors who contributed towards the raffle. But finally a special thank you to the GAA committee who allowed us the use of the hall and gave us support along the way and all the residents in Ashbury who helped to make sandwiches, cakes, and buns because without your help the night would not have been such a great success.
