Minister for Defence, Mr. Michael Smith T.D. to give keynote address at Businesswomen in Action, Trade Fair and Conference in NenaghThe Tipperary North County Enterprise Board, organisers of the Businesswomen in Action Trade Fair in conjunction with the North Tipperary Women in Business Network have announced that the Minister for Defence, Mr Michael Smith, T.D. will give the keynote address at next Sunday’s conference.
The Businesswomen in Action Trade Fair & Conference will take place at the abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh on Sunday 17 November 2002 between 12.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m.
Designed to increase awareness of entrepreneurship in North Tipperary, this trade fair and conference forms part of the Enterprise Board’s programme of supports specifically dedicated to meeting the needs of women in business in the County. The ’Businesswomen in Action’ event should inspire confidence in women contemplating starting their own business, provide access to information and advise, afford an opportunity to network with others in enterprise and a chance to learn from the experience of some of the County’s successful entrepreneurs.
The Trade Fair element will help to enhance the profile of small business in the County generally, assist exhibitors in test marketing new products and services, encourage linkage and subcontract opportunities and overall should improve the profitability and performance of local business.
Other speakers at the conference which starts at 4.00 p.m. will include Ms. Moya Breen, Head of Business Development, Tipperary Institute, Ms. Margaret Kingston, Image Consultant, Ms Rita Guinan, TNCEB, Ms. Breda Maher, Cooleeney Cheese, Ms. Jay Brophy, Coolbawn Quay, Marina, Spa and Club, Ms. Nollaig Howell, Tipperary Marketing, Ms. Cordelia Cormac, Rainbow Creche (and Best local Service winner at the County Enterprise Awards 2002).
The Conference will be chaired by local T.D. and County Councillor Ms. Maire Hoctor who is also a member of the Tipperary North County Enterprise Board.
Almost 50 trade stands have been booked to date and exhibits include beauty products, food, Crafts, wrought iron furniture, graphic design, alternative therapies/ medicines, interior design, training, horticulture, garden furniture. health & fitness, photographic artistry, stationery, office equipment, floristry and much more.
On Sunday you will have a chance to meet some of Tipperary’s top female entrepreneurs, buy your Christmas gifts or vouchers, source information on supports available for business start-up and listen to the personal experience of some of our local success stories.
The Tipperary North County Enterprise Board and the Women in Business Network will each provide help and information desks during the course of the event to accommodate those seeking information on supports available for new business start up, diversification or expansion and Network membership.
The trade fair will open to the public at 12.00 pm and close at 6.00 pm with the conference taking place between 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm and subject to demand. Childcare facilities will also be provided for those in attendance at nominal rates.
Refreshments will also be available throughout the day.
