An exhibition of painting and sculpture entitled From The Heart will be launched in Damer House, Roscrea Castle Complex on Friday next the 11th of March, commencing with a wine reception at 7.30pm.

The official opening of the exhibition will take place at 8.00pm and will be performed by Sean Donlon, Chancellor at the University of Limerick. Also in attendance will be Tom Parlon T.D Minister Of State At the Department Of Finance.

This is the first exhibition by local man Jerry Cahir. Jerry settled in Roscrea in 1985 when he became bank manger at the AIB. Since he retired ten years later Jerry has continued to immerse himself in all aspects of community life. His devotion to charitable causes is renowned and his contribution to organizations over the years such as Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce and Roscrea Lions Club resulted in a Roscrea People Of The Year Award back in 1992. This award was followed recently with a Roscrea People Citation acknowledging Jerry's pivotal work for Scart Memorial Garden and as a mentor to Roscrea 2000 artistic endeavors.

In recent years Jerry's own artistic development has become more pronounced. He showcases his work through a mixture of teak, ceramic's, chalk and mixed media. He is wished every success with his exhibition, which will open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm from the 25th of March.
