The Marie Keating Foundation has been established primarily to provide breast cancer information and awareness, free of charge to the general public throughout Ireland.
This is not a breast screening service.
We will also carry information on other services.
Our Mobile Unit will visit, Roscrea Shopping Centre, Castle Street, Roscrea on Thursday next the 6th of November.

Foundation History
Following the untimely death of Marie Keating from breast cancer in February 1998, her family, the Keatings, made the decision to establish a fund, which they named the Marie Keating Cancer Awareness Fund. This Fund was set up with a clear goal in sight, to raise money so that every man, woman and child would have access to information regarding breast cancer. Their own very personal experience brought them to realise how lost and vulnerable they felt due to their own lack of knowledge and awareness in this area and how much better they all may have coped if this information had been readily at hand.
The newly named Marie Keating Foundation raised over 500,000 prior to the official launch on 20th April 2001 with monies coming from a variety of sources such as: sporting events, fashion shows, photo shoots, sponsored hair-bleaching and personal donations. Fundraising continues. The Foundation has purchased three fully fitted mobile Information & Awareness units staffed by registered nurses and unit drivers in the Eastern, Southern and Western regions of Ireland. The Foundation has also met with An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahearn and Minister for Health and Children, Michael Martin who have been very supportive of the Foundation's cause.
To date the Foundation has visited over 820 towns, villages, and corporate sites in Ireland increasing breast cancer awareness by providing information to over 23,338 people.
