For the first time, 32 Diploma and Degree ceramic students from the Limerick School of Art and Design will be exhibiting their exciting and innovative work in the prominent city centre venue, Dooradoyle Library, Limerick.

The group show entitled 'Fired Up' and kindly supported by Limerick Co. Council, will highlight the breadth of work produced by students of the LSAD's ceramics department, which has, for many years enjoyed national and international acclaim. Past students have brought several awards to Limerick including; Elaine Riordan, winner of the Institute of Designers of Ireland Craft Award, 2003 and Lynn Ward, overall IDI winner for the Student Designer of the Year Award 2002. Exhibition pieces by the current students will include conceptual, sculptural and functional work, using a variety of techniques from the craft, fine art and industrial traditions.

LSAD's Head of the Ceramic's Department, Jim Dennison, said: This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to show their work to a wider audience and as they have had to organise the exhibition themselves, they will benefit enormously from the experience for their future careers. Come along and enjoy the work of some of Ireland's next generation of emerging ceramicists.
The exhibition will be opened by leading Irish ceramicist, Cormac Boydell on Thursday 25th March at 8.00pm and will open during the following times:
Friday 26th March 10.30am - 8.30pm
Saturday 27th March 11.30pm - 5.30pm
Tuesday 28th March 10.30pm - 5.30pm
