The event takes its o
rigin from the Who wants to be a millionaire? programme on T.V. and has the similar characteristics of the show such as the fully computerized quiz show with multiple choice questions and help options including the phone a friend option. If you answer fourteen questions, you will win 1000. There is an added option that if you buy a ticket and do not wish to compete in the event if your name is called, you can nominate someone else in your place on your ticket and the nominated person can compete on your behalf.
The event is part of a major fund raising project for the hurling club in aid of St. Cronan's G.A.A Park Development Fund. The club is planning to redevelop its present pitch as well as renovate the present pavilion, with the amount of players using the facility presently including a huge number of juveniles and camogie players, the club's accommodation is in definite need of improvement. The club is hoping to have four state of the art dressing rooms with showers and toilets, referees dressing rooms and facilities to take care of visiting teams when the need arises, the club is also hoping to erect a stand, most clubs in North Tipperary have erected stands at this stage.
The club has already received support from many businesses in the town and surrounding areas and tickets, which are 10, will be on sale to the general public in these weeks prior to the event. The club thanks everyone for their continued support and generosity. It is hoped that as many people as possible will turn out on the night itself, for entertainment of a novel and different kind. After the event Skyline will provide the music, so an excellent night is guaranteed.
