A roaring success...That’s the word from the organisers of the rally and the tourist providers of Roscrea after the multi-stage rally was hosted in Roscrea recently thanks to sponsorship from the Roscrea Online website and Grants Hotel.

The weekend of February 26th 2006 marked the arrival of the Birr & District Stages rally to Roscrea.  This huge event was brought to Roscrea by Birr & District Auto Club in connection with sponsors the www.roscreaonline.com website and Grant’s hotel.

The event which started as a Mini-Stage Rally has now impressively progressed to a multi-stage event under the guidance of Bill Ryan. Bill has proved to be a very competent clerk of the course (C.O.C.) and has two very triumphant rallies under his belt to date.

Headquarters for the event was Grants Hotel Roscrea. BADAC were delighted to have Grants Hotel along with rescreaonline as sponsors of this huge event. The rally saw the arrival of 171 rally crews to Roscrea for the weekend as well as hundreds of spectators, media crews and well wishers etc.

Well done to all concerned.  It is very important for Roscrea from an economic and social point of view to attract events like the rally, a trend that will hopefully continue long into the future.
