The Roscrea tree winter school held recently at Mt St Joseph Abbey was most informative and entertaining for the numbers of participants who travelled from all over Ireland to Roscrea.
The Roscrea tree winter school held last Thursday and Friday at Mt St Joseph Abbey was most informative and entertaining for the numbers of participants who travelled from all over Ireland to Roscrea.

The theme of Parks, Open Spaces, and woodlands for People was explored by the leading experts in the fields, including Dr John McCullen Chief Parks Superintendent OPW, Dr Christy Boylan, European Chair of Federation of Parks, Diarmuid McAree, chief forestry inspector, Dr Ben Simon, chairman of Crann and many more. Directors John McLoughlin and George Cunningham declared themselves very pleased with the large turnout and the excellence of the talks.

Following a welcome from Abbot Dom Kevin OCSO Michael Smith Former minister for Forestry officially opened the conference.
A large attendance from Roscrea Tidy Towns attended all session.
