Well done Christopher Donoghue. Christopher recently scooped a top National award in a short story competition organised by the Grace Nolan Foundation,CHRISTOPHER DONOGHUE is certainly in the good books of his fellow classmates and teachers as he scooped a top National award in a short story competition organised by the Grace Nolan Foundation, which commemorates 9 year old Grace who died in 1999 from a rare blood disorder HTT. Christopher won a Newbridge Silver photo frame and a MP3 player and a computer, printer and scanner for the school.

Sixth class in Scoil Iosef Naofa, Corville entered a competition under the guidance of John Hogan, class teacher, which involves writing to their heavenly pen pal, Grace, beginning with “Dear Grace”, telling her of the main events and activities of the past year, both on a personal and global level. There were 40,000 entries this year from all over Ireland. The winning letters are published pre-Christmas in paperback form with all proceeds helping to make HTT a thing of the past in Ireland.
Presentation of the awards took place in the Helix in Dublin. Mirroring the Oscars, the ceremony itself was a mixture of glitz, glamour, awards, celebrities which included; Brendan O’Carroll, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch, Mikey, and Alan Kavanagh to mention just a few, music from 21 Demands and not to forget selection boxes and drinks! The suspense was nail-biting. Congratulations to Christopher on his win. The school and teachers are extremely proud of him.
