Great Success For Hurling Summer Camp:

The recent hurling camp run in conjunction with Roscrea Hurling Club and GAA Cúl Camp was an outstanding success. The event took place the last week in July and the club was blessed with the one of the best week’s of weather that we have had this summer.

Over one hundred and twenty young hurlers ranging in ages from five to sixteen participated in the five day camp. On the last day a special awards ceremony took place and was attended by members of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Panel that included Tommy Fitzgerald, Shane McGrath and Ryan O’Dwyer. Also in attendance was the “Munster Cup” courtesy of Tipp’s resounding victory over Clare in the Munster Final.

Roscrea Hurling Club would like to thank Tadhg O’Connor and all the coaches and parents that helped ensure that this year’s “Summer Camp” was one of the best in recent times.

All the players that participated in the Camp received a jersey, shorts, togs, kit bag and a commemorative certificate in honour of their achievements over the week. Most importantly all the participants developed their existing hurling skills while at the same time learning new skills and tricks that will no doubt help them and Roscrea Hurling Club flourish on the playing fields of Tipperary for years to come. Congratulations are also extended to Juvenile Club Chairman, John Campion, and all his officials on the great work that the Juvenile Club is engaged in. The success of the U12’s in the North Final on Saturday last was a tremendous achievement and a great vote of confidence in the workings of the Juvenile Club. Best of luck to everyone involved in the U12 County Semi Final.
