As Time Goes By – A Concert Not To Miss
This is the title Roscrea Community Choir has chosen for their big charity performance this year. This name was chosen because this year the choir celebrates the tenth anniversary of their reformation. The choir is raising funds for Fr. Colm Hogan’s mission in Ecuador. Fr. Colm was a member of the choir in the early days of it reformation and was the choir’s chaplain when they went to Rome to perform for Pope John Paul ll.

The choir will perform a variety of numbers ranging from the religious to modern showstoppers.
They are joined for the night by guest John Molloy – a bass with a huge pedigree in opera. John hails from Birr and his contribution to the concert’s programme guarantees satisfaction. There are a huge number of local artistes contributing to the night’s entertainment.
Junior Comhaltas has graced stages throughout the province and on the All Ireland Fleadh Platform. Many of them are past and present All-Ireland Champions in their own fields. Their performance contains elements of music, song and dance. Of particular note is Ciara Callanan Ryan and Shane Cummins who have qualified for the World Championships in Philidelphia and will perform a duet on the night. There will be a total of eight dancers performing on the night.

The choir will be joined by an orchestra comprising of members of Comhaltas – Junior and Senior and other friends. They will accompany the choir for some of the performances – you will have to come along on the night to see how they work with the choir! There will be solo performances by Shane Cummins – a world champion in his field of dance, Yvonne O'Toole a young musician and singer with a beautiful voice. All in all the night promises to be an unforgettable entertaining concert with “something for everyone”. Tickets are on sale at €20 from The Music Store. They will also be available from an office in Roscrea Credit Union from Thursday December 4th next until Saturday. Tickets will not be available at the door on Sunday 7th next. However Pre-booked tickets can be collected at the Legion Hall between 7-7.30 on Sunday night The concert takes place in St. Cronan’s Church and the performance will start promptly at 8pm.
